Come hang out and make fabric art the Kinusaiga way—no sewing, just cutting, tucking, and watching your piece come to life. This workshop is set up like a choose-your-own-adventure: whether you’re brand new or ready for the advanced process, you’ll have an option that fits!

You can:

  • Intro option: work from a pre-etched design (great for first-timers or anyone who wants a smoother start)

  • Advanced option: etch your own design for more freedom, detail, and customization

  • Choose a standard board or a smaller board if you want a quicker project

  • Want a bigger board? Contact Us at least 3 days before the workshop with your size request, and we'll work with you. Please note: larger boards will require you to cut your own design.

Timing / how long to plan for

  • Advanced (etch-your-own): plan to stay 2–5 PM

  • Intro (pre-etched): plan to stay 2–4 PM

  • Projects vary, and some people like to take their time—so give yourself a little extra space to hang out if you can.


What to Expect

Once your pattern is cut, you’ll build a vibrant, Japanese-inspired fabric-art scene by tucking fabric scraps into the crevices—relaxing, tactile, and surprisingly addictive.

Your design choice and fabric picks make your piece completely your own, and you’ll leave with a finished artwork to take home—plus the satisfaction of giving fabric scraps a second life. 💕


*If you’re bringing your own design for a 5x7

We recommend using Canva to make a 4.75" x 6.75" frame, drop your artwork inside, then save as a PDF for print and print at 100% to keep sizing accurate. Quick heads-up: curved lines, circles, tiny pieces, and intricate shapes can be tricky to cut cleanly and harder to fill with fabric—bold, simpler shapes tend to work best.


How to upgrade your finished piece

With a polished look—add a white shadow box frame (+$7 for 5x7 or +$5 for 4x6) at checkout. Not available for purchase at the workshop.



Safety & Suitability

This workshop requires good hand dexterity and comfort working with an X-Acto blade. Recommended for ages 15+  


What Your Ticket Includes

  • A prepped Kinusaiga design foam
  • 5x7 designs for cutting into the foam (should you pick the Advanced, UnCut ticket)
  • A curated selection of fabric scraps to choose from
  • Exact-o knife, scissors, & Fabric tucking tools (provided for use during class
  • No pressure instructions: you’ll get the basics up front, and I’ll be circulating to help as questions pop up.
  • 1 finished piece to take home
  • A cardboard stand for easy tabletop display (optional, if you don't get a frame)
  • Setup + cleanup handled for you


Refund Policy

Because seating is limited and supplies are purchased in advance:
  • No refunds within 7 days of the event
  • Cancellations more than 7 days before the event can choose a refund or ticket transfer/credit (if available)
  • You can transfer your ticket to a friend—just message me the name for check-in
