If you’ve joined us for our Intro to Kinusaiga Workshop (or you’re ready for a bigger challenge), come level up in our Advanced Kinusaiga Workshop.

You’ll start with a 5x7 foam board that’s already prepped with an adhesive surface.
From there, you’ll choose a design from plenty of printed options or bring your own*, then attach it to the board and cut the lines into the foam with a blade to create your pattern. (The two designs shown in the photos are just examples, not the only options.)

Prefer to freestyle? You can also draw your design directly onto the adhesive backing  and cut from your drawing.

Once your pattern is cut, you’ll build a vibrant, Japanese-inspired fabric-art scene by tucking fabric scraps into the channels—relaxing, tactile, and surprisingly addictive.

Your design choice and fabric picks make your piece completely your own, and you’ll leave with a finished artwork to take home—plus the satisfaction of giving fabric scraps a second life. 💕

*If you’re bringing your own design

we recommend using Canva to make a 5.125" x 7.125" frame, drop your artwork inside, then save as a PDF for print and print at 100% to keep sizing accurate. Quick heads-up: curved lines, circles, tiny pieces, and intricate shapes can be tricky to cut cleanly and harder to fill with fabric—bold, simpler shapes tend to work best.


How to upgrade your finished piece

with a polished look—add a white shadow box frame (+$7) at checkout. Not available for purchase at the workshop.



 Safety & suitability

This workshop requires good hand dexterity and comfort working with an X-Acto blade. Recommended for ages 15+

Refund policy

Because seating is limited and supplies are purchased in advance:
  • No refunds within 7 days of the event
  • Cancellations more than 7 days before the event can choose a refund or ticket transfer/credit (if available)
  • You can transfer your ticket to a friend—just message me the name for check-in
