Feelin Myself

Feelin Myself

Deep breath..
Time to talk about my Feelings

If you're here, reading this, you've probably checked out the little woman on my cauldron altar space at one (or 5) of my craft fairs, and was as obsessed with her as I have become for each and every version I've made so far.

She's actually incredibly important to me. She is the reason I began this journey working with resin, and I thought maybe you would like to know the story, too.

Over my life, I have worked with a lot of physical therapists for a variety of pains and differences in my body. I'm already a highly imaginative and sensitive person, and can get inside my body and visualize what I feel. To be clear - I'm very bad at anatomy - but I am very clear on the visual as to what is happening, say inside my "stomach" (which is actually probably my intestines??), and what it *FEELS* like. My physical therapists enjoy the visuals and are able to understand what I need in my sessions, and I came to wonder if I see these things inside of myself - do others?

That's how She began.

I wanted to make an art piece of a woman
and create all the feelings I've felt and visualized
inside and all around.

But I had NO IDEA how to do it! Glass? Lol. I do not have the personal heat resistance, lungs, or dedicated plan for that (though it would still be cool if I could just download the mental instructions on how to do that.. like in the Matrix!). I sat with these feelings for a while. Like actual years. And THEN I learned about resin.

Everything you've ever seen at my craft fairs has been an in-depth study of resin; how to make it work in general, how to make my own silicone molds, and how to run into problems and troubleshoot them. There were no hands-on classes to learn resin, so this has been a full self-taught process (with a bunch of great advice from fellow resin artists on IG)!

This piece has been particularly difficult, as I had to get the original form created, printed, and then had to figure out how to make a multi-piece silicone mold for it. It's been a lot of work. But I am finally at a point where I am not only happy, but ecstatic to share my Feelings with you!

The countdown has begun.
I will be releasing these little sculptures
sometime during the week of May 22nd!
